Inside the unforgettable blue white glow
This was the first time we had to stand in a queue. It was evening by now. This is the time to come out and enjoy. Streets start getting filled up. Queues for Devi darshan start getting longer by the minute.
Our queue moved fast. In a short half an hour we could enter the path to the idol. As we moved ahead, I noticed the white swans.
I lost myself for sometime in the spectacle. floating at the base of a tall column a majestic swan looked at me serenely.
Detaching myself from the attraction of the beauty I moved ahead. People looked small among the majestic blue whites.
Wall area was sparse, nevertheless the art on the walls matched the surroundings.
I looked through the tapestry. Blue tinged white light on the webs of art leaves, feathers, delicate white strands and beads created mysterious curtains around the glow within.
At last Devi Durga. I stood silent, my heart full. Such beauty!
A member of the event guided me to the feathered lake. Light pink lotus floated.
The huge feathered plume aspired to touch the leaves of a chhatim tree in the center of the arena.
Before leaving I couldn't but have a last look at the heavely creation of Devi Durga.
Home now, nothing after this, I declared. My friends concurred readily.
Our own Ma Durga waited for us just outside our home.
She is our own, incomparable.
